Product certification – activity of an independent body aimed at determining whether the product meets the defined requirements.

The fact that the certificate is issued by an independent body gives it special importance in building confidence of customers and partners with regard to the quality and safety of the product; it helps to assure that the product conforms to the requirements of EU legislation or other government legislation that is particularly important given the responsibility of each entrepreneur about the safety of the products offered on the market and the different laws in different countries; in prevention of claims of the state supervision authorities.

Within its competence, LATSERT issues different types of certificates depending on the specific needs of the customer.

Certification of textile fabrics and products is carried out to confirm: 

  • conformity of the product to the safety and/or quality requirements 

  • conformity of the actual composition of the textile fibres with the one indicated on the labelling or documentation 

  • hygienic characteristics of the product 

  • conformity of the product's ecological parameters to the requirements 

LATSERT offers certification of a variety of products, including

Field of activity

LATSERT is an independent conformity assessment body providing product certification and testing, training, expertise and other services.

Services provided by LATSERT include a number of unique services that have no analogues in Latvia and Baltic States, for example, testing of toys and playground equipment, tobacco products, biofuels, lighters and other products.

Notification and authorization

 LATSERT is:
 

EC notified body under the Regulation (EU) 2019/1009 – CE certification of fertilisers under module B (institution No. 1326);

EC notified body under the Directive 2009/48/EC – Safety of Toys (institution No. 1326);

EC approved laboratories for testing of cigarettes, fertilizers and wine;

Latvian authorized body for certification of natural mineral water, toys, fuel and biofuel; testing of fertilizers, marked fuel, denatured alcohol, fuel, biofuel and lighters.

Accreditation

LATSERT is accredited in all the conformity assessment areas included in its field of activity:

  • certification of products (LATAK-S1-081); 

  • testing (LATAK-T-138).

Our clients include multinational companies and businesses of different sizes from more than 15 countries, as well as the state surveillance institutions of Baltic States and other countries.

Conformity assessment system established in Latvia has been recognized in the European Union. Thanks to this fact, Latvia has the opportunity to notify the accredited conformity assessment bodies for registration to the European Commission, thus ensuring a formal recognition of their conformity assessment results by all member states. 

Certification

LATSERT is EC notified body under the Regulation (EU) 2019/1009 – CE certification of fertilisers under module B (institution No. 1326)

LATSERT is EC notified body in the field of EC type examination of toys in accordance with the Directive No. 2009/48/EC (notified body No. 1326).

Testing

LATSERT laboratory is included in the EC official lists of approved laboratories for testing of fertilizers (Regulation 2003/2003/EC); cigarettes (Directive 2014/40/EU); the official analysis in wine sector (Regulations 436/2009, 1234/2007, 555/2008).
