Other products - testing 

The result of testing of products is a warranty needed by customers and consumers on the quality and safety of the offered product. 

LATSERT provides a wide range of chemical, physico-chemical and mechanical testing services for a variety of products, including hygiene products and articles, clothing, chemical products, household products, etc.) by determination: 

  • substances, the use of which is prohibited or restricted by REACH regulation;

  • characteristics of the product's safety including the ones prescribed in EU regulations; 

  • product quality characteristics set in the manufacturer's specification or defined by the client; 

  • other product characteristics.

Testing of playground equipment

LATSERT is the only laboratory in Latvia carrying out testing of playground equipment for domestic use in accordance with the Directive 2009/48/EC and EN 71 series standards, incl.:

  • EN 71-1 Safety of toys - Part 1: Mechanical and physical properties

  • EN 71-2 Safety of toys - Part 2: Flammability

  • EN 71-3 Safety of toys - Part 3: Migration of certain elements

  • EN 71-8 Safety of toys - Part 8: Activity toys for domestic use

  • EN 71-9 Safety of toys - Part 9: Organic chemical compounds – Requirements

  • EN 71-11 Safety of toys - Part 11: Organic chemical compounds - Methods of analysis and other standards.

LATSERT laboratory has been providing playground equipment testing services to the state market surveillance institutions, as well as working with the equipment manufacturers from Baltic States and other countries for more than 10 years.

Other products. Certification.

Product certification – activity of an independent body aimed at determining whether the product meets the defined requirements.

The fact that the certificate is issued by an independent body gives it special importance in building confidence of customers and partners with regard to the quality and safety of the product; it helps to assure that the product conforms to the requirements of EU legislation or other government legislation that is particularly important given the responsibility of each entrepreneur about the safety of the products offered on the market and the different laws in different countries; in prevention of claims of the state supervision authorities.

Within its competence, LATSERT issues different types of certificates depending on the specific needs of the customer.

Certification of textile fabrics and products is carried out to confirm: 

  • conformity of the product to the safety and/or quality requirements 

  • conformity of the actual composition of the textile fibres with the one indicated on the labelling or documentation 

  • hygienic characteristics of the product 

  • conformity of the product's ecological parameters to the requirements
