The aim of the cosmetic product certification is to assess and confirm the conformity of cosmetic products and/or the respective manufacturing processes to requirements set out in the Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and Council on cosmetic products.

The regulation establishes rules to be complied with by any cosmetic products made available on the EU market, in order to ensure the functioning of the internal market and a high level of protection of human health.

In accordance with the requirements of the Regulation manufacturing process of cosmetic products should comply with good manufacturing practice (GMP) provisions set out in the harmonised standard EN ISO 22716 Cosmetics – Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) – Guidelines on Good Manufacturing Practices. 

By carrying out the certification of cosmetic products one may receive certificate of conformity
