Testing of fuel

LATSERT laboratory carries out extensive testing of fuel by checking the parameters stated in EC Regulations, international standards and quality specifications, including:

  • petrol testing in accordance with EN 228 Automotive fuels - Unleaded petrol – Requirements and test methods

  • diesel (including low sulphur diesel and biodiesel mixtures) testing in accordance with EN 590 Automotive fuels - Diesel - Requirements and test methods 

  • various types of biofuel: 100% biodiesel (FAME), biodiesel and fossil fuel mixtures in different proportions (B5, B7, B 30, etc.), vegetable oils (AE100), methanol, ethanol and petrol mixture in different proportions (E85, E10, E5, etc.)  in accordance with European Directives and different standards such as EN 14214 Liquid petroleum products - Fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) for use in diesel engines and heating applications - Requirements and test methods; CEN/TS 15293 Automotive fuels - Ethanol (E85) automotive fuel - Requirements and test methods etc.

  • ethanol in accordance with EN 15376 Automotive fuels - Ethanol as a blending component for petrol - Requirements and test methods;

  • marked fuel testing by checking the substances used for fuel marking laid down in legislation.

LATSERT laboratory operates in accordance with the high level standards, offering services of an accredited laboratory not only to Latvian companies but also to interested parties from around the world.

Methods specified in EN, ASTM, ISO and LVS standards and, if necessary, other methods are used for the testing.
