Certfication of fuel
Certification or conformity assessment is a mandatory requirement for a range of fuels in Latvia. The exception is a fuel produced in European Union member state having test reports from an accredited testing laboratory for particular fuel lot. However, in case a mixture of such lots is offered on the market and no testing in an accredited laboratory has been carried out, a mandatory conformity assessment of such mixture must be performed as well.
LATSERT is an accredited fuel certification body offering mandatory fuel certification. In addition to the mandatory certification, LATSERT carries out voluntary fuel certification by assessing the conformity of fuels to the international standard requirements or customer defined requirements.
Certificates of conformity are granted taking into account LATSERT laboratory testing results that have been issued in accordance with EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard "General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories", by interpreting them in accordance with EN ISO 4259 "Petroleum products - Determination and application of precision data in relation to methods of test"
